Summary
A novel methodology for prioritizing restoration efforts on cultural heritage sites, particularly those under threat from climate change and tourism, has been developed. The approach combines technical assessment of degradation, vulnerability evaluation considering exogenous factors, and hierarchization using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Applied to the 124 Macael marble columns in the Patio de los Leones at the Alhambra-Granada, a UNESCO World Heritage Site attracting over 2 million visitors annually, this method aims to guide targeted conservation interventions. The study validated its effectiveness using an HBIM (Historical Building Information Model) for data management and hierarchy determination, offering a scalable solution for preserving vulnerable heritage elements.
