Summary

A significant increase in students' historical awareness was observed when the Sangiran Early Man Site was incorporated as a pre-literacy learning tool for junior high school students. The study, involving 64 students divided into experimental and control groups, demonstrated that those who visited the site showed markedly improved learning outcomes (p < 0.05). This suggests that leveraging archaeological sites outside traditional classroom settings can effectively enhance student engagement with history, addressing challenges such as limited resources and uninspiring teaching methods.
