Summary
Residents' support for tourism development at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Longmen Grottoes, is significantly influenced by four key factors: community attachment, community involvement, perceived community gains, and trust in government. This study reveals that while heritage tourism drives economic growth, it also poses challenges such as gentrification, which can disrupt local social and economic structures. Using quantitative research methods and systematic sampling, the authors analyzed how these factors shape residents' perceptions of tourism benefits and their willingness to support further development. The findings highlight the importance of fostering community engagement and trust in governance to sustain heritage tourism while mitigating its negative impacts on local communities.
