Social and Solidarity Economy, Women and Empowerment: The Case of Inzá Tierradentro Peasant Association

A study on the Inzá Tierradentro Peasant Association (ACIT) reveals that social and solidarity economy initiatives can significantly empower peasant women in Colombia, who have historically faced marginalization in economic opportunities. The research, grounded in qualitative methods and critical social theory, identifies key factors contributing to women's empowerment through an intersectional analysis of their roles within the association. Findings highlight how collective economic proposals, rooted in agrarian and gender studies, can address systemic barriers for women, offering a model for inclusive development in rural communities.
