Summary

A significant reduction in the seating capacity of Xanthus Theatre, from 4628 to 2826 people, is attributed to architectural modifications during the Antonine and Severan periods following a devastating earthquake in the 2nd century AD. This study reconstructs the theater's cavea structure during the Early Imperial Period using detailed descriptions and evaluations, shedding light on its evolution from a theatrical space to an arena and later to its current form due to subsequent demolitions.
