The excavation of M793 at Liujiazhuang North in Yinxu, Anyang, Henan

Excavation of tomb M793 at Liujiazhuang North, Yinxu, reveals it as a significant burial site for the Yajiang or Jiang clan during the late stage of Yinxu Phase II. Bronze artifacts with inscriptions linking the area to the Yajiang clan and the tomb's structure suggest the occupant was a minor leader rather than the main clan chief. The discovery provides critical evidence confirming Liujiazhuang North as an important settlement for this clan, offering new insights into the social hierarchy and spatial distribution of the Jiang people during the late Shang Dynasty.
