A six-year analysis of the Sundarbans National Park, using Landsat 8 satellite data and Google Earth Engine, revealed no significant overall change in mangrove vegetation cover between 2014 and 2020. However, coastal regions, particularly the southern end, experienced notable shifts due to land accretion and natural disturbances like cyclones. The study leveraged normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and its derivative (dNDVI) to quantify these changes, providing critical insights for long-term monitoring and conservation efforts in this ecologically vital mangrove ecosystem.
