Summary
Ecoacoustics emerges as a promising tool to deepen our understanding of the Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia (CCLC), a UNESCO World Heritage Site inscribed in 2011. This study highlights the potential of ecoacoustic methods, such as non-negative matrix factorization and acoustic indices, to bridge the gap between visible and audible features of this landscape. By analyzing anthropophonic, geophonic, and biophonic sound sources, researchers can enrich the study of the CCLC, offering new insights into its biodiversity and ecological dynamics. The research outlines both short- and long-term directions for future work, aiming to integrate ecoacoustic approaches into conservation and sustainable development strategies.
