Summary
A new record of the Nearctic crane fly species, Tipula (Arctotipula) besselsoides Alexander, 1919, is reported for Russia and Wrangel Island, highlighting its widespread distribution across the island's subzones. The study also confirms the presence of another species, T. (A.) oklandi Alexander, 1922, exclusively in Russia, while adjusting its known distribution range. Additionally, the rarer Holarctic species, T. (A.) salicetorum Siebke, 1870, was found predominantly in climatically harsh northern and eastern regions of Wrangel Island. The research provides an illustrated key for both male and female adults and distribution maps for all three species, contributing to the understanding of their ecological preferences and geographic ranges on this biodiversity-rich island.
