Summary
A framework for developing extended reality (XR) mobile guide applications tailored to serial UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Korea’s Seowon, has been successfully designed. This approach leverages interactive XR and edutainment features to enhance visitor engagement and knowledge retention by revealing the interconnected heritage attributes of dispersed subcomponents within their broader cultural context. User interaction analysis with a prototype application identified key preferences and areas for improvement, offering valuable insights for future development. The study underscores the potential of XR technology in promoting immersive learning experiences at large-scale heritage sites.
