Summary
A comprehensive dataset of vascular plant biodiversity from four UNESCO World Heritage Sites—Amami-Oshima Island, Tokunoshima Island, and the northern part of Okinawa Island—reveals a rich diversity of 381 species across 99 families. This dataset, collected using standardized belt-transect surveys between July 2012 and October 2020, provides critical baseline data for monitoring plant diversity in these ecologically significant regions. It includes detailed records of species occurrence, tree girth, and height measurements, serving as a foundational resource for future biodiversity assessments. The dataset is openly accessible via the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) under a Creative Commons license, ensuring broad utility for researchers and conservationists.
