Summary
Tourism is projected to contribute significantly more to Albania's GDP by 2024, growing from 4.8% in 2013 to 6.1%, with potential revenues exceeding official estimates due to the sector's diverse and inclusive nature. This study highlights the critical role of human resources (HR) in achieving tourism's economic objectives, particularly in service-oriented organizations like those in Gjirokastra. It emphasizes the need for high-quality HR standards and targeted training to address skill gaps, leveraging data from national and international institutions, including WTTC reports. The research underscores tourism as a key driver for economic growth and unemployment reduction in developing countries, while noting challenges in accurately measuring its impact.
