Summary
Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) emerges as the most accurate technique for 3D reconstruction of Qhapaq Ñan with photogrammetry and Kinect sensors achieving sub-centimeter precision. The study compared these methods using a 450-meter section in Lima, Peru, leveraging drone-acquired photogrammetric data, TLS scans, and Total Station measurements. Elevation contour maps and geometric comparisons revealed TLS's superior accuracy, while photogrammetry and Kinect demonstrated practical viability for high-resolution modeling with minimal error. This research underscores the potential of cost-effective, accessible technologies like photogrammetry and Kinect in heritage documentation without compromising precision.
