Summary
A groundbreaking catalog of stamp seals and amulets from Palestine/Israel, spanning the Chalcolithic to Persian periods, has been expanded with Band IV, adding 1225 new objects to a total of 6313. This comprehensive work, the first of its kind in sigillography, sets a new standard for archaeological documentation by systematically presenting artifacts from legal excavations, enriched with detailed descriptions, photographs, and drawings. The catalog provides invaluable material for biblical studies, Levantine historiography, and Egyptology, offering chronological and cultural context through extensive parallels. Originating from 30 additional sites, including Tel Gamma/Tell Jemmeh (213 objects) and Geser (691), the collection bridges gaps in historical research and redefines foundational scholarship in these fields.
