Summary
A comparative analysis of the Putorana Plateau’s local floras reveals that the Lontoko goletz and subgoletz belts exhibit distinct floral characteristics compared to those of the Kygam and Morgel’ belts. The study, which analyzed life forms, geography, and ecology across two altitudinal belts in the upper reaches of three rivers, found that while the Kygam floras share similarities with either Lontoko or Morgel’, the latter differ significantly from each other. Ecological groups and life forms further highlight these differences, particularly distinguishing the Lontoko and Kygam belts from the Morgel’ belts. Additionally, the research suggests that since the late Little Ice Age, the Longdokoiskii Kamen’ Ridge has become more floristically integrated with the western Putorana Plateau, likely due to changes in atmospheric influences such as reduced Atlantic cyclone effects and strengthened Siberian anticyclone dominance.
