Summary

A study on environmental literacy among students aged 12–15 in Žatec, Czech Republic, found that while attitudes toward the environment remained consistent across age groups, older students demonstrated a notable decline in both their intention to engage in pro-environmental behavior and their actual participation. The research, conducted with 67 respondents from Classes 6 to 9, used adapted questionnaires to assess environmental attitudes, commitment to behavior, and real-life actions. No significant gender differences were observed, nor was there a proven link between attitudes and behavior—either intended or actual.
