Summary
A degraded area between Vicenza’s historic center and the Bacchiglione river, long neglected as a parking lot or warehouse, presents a unique opportunity for urban regeneration. This study proposes leveraging its strategic location to restore social and cultural connections with the city’s river, addressing historical disassociations. The research outlines potential interventions developed during an architectural course at the University of Padua, aiming to transform the area into a space for qualitative restoration and community enrichment. By integrating rituals and past linkages, the project seeks to repair the water-city relationship while revitalizing Vicenza’s urban fabric.
