A new architectural and urban approach, 'Lectura Evolutiva,' reveals how Zacatecas' historic center, shaped by its silver mining heritage during New Spain, offers critical insights into the city's morphological evolution. By analyzing the spatial relationships of mine-linked buildings within the UNESCO-listed site, this study provides a historical lens to understand Zacatecas' territorial development. It employs reinterpretation of historical elements and innovative cartography to propose preservation strategies that safeguard this architectural legacy while fostering its transmission to future generations. The research highlights the significance of valuing structures tied to argentiferous extraction, setting precedents for heritage conservation in similar contexts.
