Summary
Fluctuations in water input from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers significantly alter the submerged land areas of the Central Marshlands in Southern Iraq, leading to ecosystem changes. The study highlights that these variations cause contraction and expansion of marshes, impacting their biodiversity and economic potential. To mitigate these effects, the research proposes using basin and low marshes as large water reservoirs during floods, alongside negotiating upstream water agreements for regular inspection and stability of Iraq's water resources. The descriptive analytical approach was employed to assess statistical data, providing insights into the dynamic nature of marsh ecosystems.
