Summary
A study on Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and popular tourist destination in Assam, India, reveals that visitors exhibit high willingness to pay (WTP) for park entry. This finding suggests that the park's entry fee could be strategically increased to maximize revenue without deterring visitors. Using contingent valuation method (CVM), researchers analyzed data from 766 visitors, identifying key factors influencing WTP: income, domicile, expenditure, satisfaction, perceived image, revisit intention, and environmental disposition. The study offers actionable insights for pricing policies aimed at achieving financial sustainability while supporting conservation efforts.
