Summary

A new record of the fly species Limonia interjecta (Diptera: Limoniidae) extends its known range to Russia and the East Palaearctic, marking its first documentation outside Europe. While rare in its European habitats, L. interjecta is notably common on the Putorana Plateau in northern Eastern Siberia, thriving across boreal forest and tundra zones at altitudes ranging from 71 to 723 meters. The study provides an illustrated redescription of both male and female specimens, offering critical taxonomic details, and discusses its distribution patterns within the Palaearctic region alongside habitat observations specific to the Putorana region.
