Summary

Modern tourism demands more than passive experiences, seeking active, emotionally and intellectually engaging encounters with cultural heritage. This study identifies the shift toward 'experiencescapes'—dynamic environments that blend education, entertainment, and sensory stimulation to create memorable, personalized visits. It introduces four experience spheres (entertainment, education, escapism, aesthetic) that, when combined, enhance visitor immersion. The research highlights innovative tools like multi-sensory stimuli, storytelling, and interactive technologies (e.g., virtual tours, themed settings) to differentiate tourism offerings. While these approaches attract diverse audiences—especially younger visitors—they risk 'McDisneyization,' where cultural authenticity may be diluted by mass reproduction. Balancing innovation with preservation is critical to maintaining heritage value while meeting evolving consumer expectations.
