Summary

Tourist operators at Victoria Falls are leveraging Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies to enhance competitiveness, particularly through pre-travel services that significantly influence tourists' patronage choices. However, on-site technological applications remain underutilized, leading to tourist dissatisfaction. The study, involving 96 tourists and 30 tour operators, identified key barriers to 4IR adoption, including managerial skill gaps, lack of expertise, and a reluctance to innovate. Recommendations include urgent integration of artificial intelligence, investment in technological upgrades, and cybersecurity measures to support digital transformation.
