Between 1984 and 2009, Djerba Island, Tunisia, experienced significant coastal dynamics, with erosion rates reaching -6.95 m/year in Aghir and accretion trends of up to +21.14 m/year in El Kastil. These findings were derived from advanced image processing techniques, including the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) and Landsat imagery, which provided precise measurements of shoreline changes across three key regions: Rass Errmall, El Kastil, and Aghir.
