Summary

A hybrid multi-objective approach combining Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) has identified Cartagena as a leading container port in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), not only in annual TEU throughput but also in efficient resource utilization. Despite global disruptions, LAC's main container terminals have shown growth, necessitating adaptations to meet new logistical demands. This study analyzed operational criteria such as berth length, draught depth, crane numbers, and proximity to the Panama Canal, revealing key factors influencing port performance from 2014 to 2023.
