Summary

A critical threshold for network load (δ < 0.7) can prevent large-scale cascading failures in tourist traffic networks, such as the Summer Palace in Beijing, which exhibits small-world characteristics. The study reveals that increasing the capacity of high-risk nodes—ranked by cascading failure rate (CFR)—can reduce failure scale by up to 63.66%. Researchers simulated emergency events using load-capacity models and attack strategies, identifying key factors like node capacity, adjacency relationships, and load distribution as significant influencers on failure dynamics.
