Summary

This publication highlights the severe human rights violations and systemic oppression experienced by Palestinians in Hebron's Old Town, 50 years after Israel's occupation of the West Bank. It underscores the rapid expansion of illegal Israeli settlements, which contravenes international law, and the escalation of settler violence with zero accountability. The study also reveals the stark disparity in legal treatment between Palestinians, tried under military law with a near 100% conviction rate, and settlers, subject to civil law. Additionally, it documents the severe restrictions on Palestinian movement due to checkpoints and closed military zones, as well as the extrajudicial killings of Palestinian youth, even when disarmed. The publication calls for immediate action to secure basic human rights, implement international law, and protect nonviolent human rights defenders.
