Summary

A comprehensive petrological analysis of mafic enclaves from Bezymianny Volcano, Kamchatka, reveals the complex structure of its magmatic plumbing system. The study identified four distinct types of enclaves based on mineral composition, morphology, and formation conditions, indicating interactions between shallow andesite–basaltic andesite magmas (940–980°C) and deeper basic magmas (>1090°C). These enclaves, formed during magma ascent from deep reservoirs (5–9 kbar), provide evidence of magma mixing at different levels within the volcanic system. The findings highlight the dynamic nature of Bezymianny's magma chamber network, with implications for understanding volcanic processes in Kamchatka's UNESCO-listed volcanic landscapes.
