Summary

Research on the Xixia Imperial Tombs, specifically Mausoleum No. 2, reveals significant underground structures using ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and muon detection methods. The study identified a solid loess body structure within the mausoleum pagoda and central platform, along with distinct differences between inner and outer walls, suggesting the presence of an unknown ancient building buried beneath. GPR and cosmic ray probes were employed to image internal density structures, while range-ranging GPR mapped regional underground features. These findings provide innovative insights for archaeological exploration, though further integration with other geophysical methods is planned to refine the imaging of internal structures.
