New insights into the Etruscan wattle-and-daub construction technique on the Po Plain reveal the life history of a fifth-century BCE building from Forcello, including its construction, maintenance, and destruction. The interdisciplinary study combines archaeometric, geological, and anthracological analyses to uncover how this technique was used in an environment with limited stone resources. Findings highlight the interaction between Etruscan people and their paleoenvironment, offering a deeper understanding of ancient building practices in northern Italy.
