Summary

A taxonomic revision of the Palaearctic Pimeliini (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) identifies two distinct monophyletic branches within a previously polyphyletic group, characterized by dorso-lateral eyes. The study proposes the new subtribe Habrobatina for the Habrobates genus group and reclassifies several genera, including resurrecting synonymies such as Apatopsis grombczewskii = Apatopsis conradti. Additionally, a new species (Dietomorpha gonzalesi) is described from Pakistan, and Platyope granulata is recorded for the first time in Kazakhstan. Lectotypes are designated for multiple taxa, clarifying their systematic positions. This research enhances the understanding of ultrapsammophilic beetles across arid landscapes, from Eastern Europe to Central Asia.
