Summary
Kraków, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and regional metropolis, faces significant urban development challenges despite its historical significance. The study highlights that while the city has undergone rapid transformation post-1989, issues such as disproportionate territorial growth, chaotic investment management, and inadequate legal frameworks persist. A key focus is the renovation of both historic districts like the Old Town and older residential buildings to modernize housing standards. Additionally, leveraging post-industrial plots for future housing needs is identified as a critical strategy. The article suggests that Kraków's ability to address these challenges in the coming years will determine its sustainable development trajectory.
