Summary

A new historical source from the 18th century has been introduced, significantly enriching our understanding of the Church of St. Spirit in Potelych. This discovery has enabled researchers to reconstruct the church's chronology from its origins in the 1560s to the present day, including its confessional shifts and restoration history. The study employs objectivity, historicism, and systematic analysis to integrate disparate historical facts into a cohesive narrative. Notably, it reveals that the church was built on the site of an earlier 16th-century structure and underwent multiple confessional changes before joining the Kyiv Union Metropolitanate in the late 17th century. Additionally, the research highlights its Soviet-era closure, restoration, and eventual reinstatement as a functioning religious site in 2008.
