Summary

Deep seismic studies along the Central Sikhote-Alin reveal significant crustal and upper mantle variations, with P-wave velocities ranging from 4.0 to 8.3 km/s across distinct tectonic zones. The research identifies a complexly faulted and folded Paleozoic sedimentary basin within the Middle Amur region, characterized by low-velocity deposits, and a displacement of 4–5 km along the Central Sikhote-Alin deep fault. Crystalline rocks with velocities of 6.0–6.2 km/s were found at varying depths, while crustal thickness increases from 32–34 km in the north to 36–37 km in central and eastern regions. Anomalies correlated with structural-tectonic zones and seismicity highlight increased heterogeneity and seismic activity within the Middle Amur sedimentary basin.
