Summary
A transcendental sense, deeper than religion or science, can be rationally understood through Numinose Theory. This study reveals that the concept of 'numinosity'—a profound, awe-inspiring emotion—offers a new framework for interpreting spatial design and artistic objects without relying on dogmatic logic. By applying Rudolf Otto's theory to Jongmyo Shrine's Jeongjeon, researchers demonstrate its potential as a tool for aesthetically analyzing sacred spaces, bridging the gap between subjective experience and systematic understanding.
