Summary

A comprehensive reconstruction study of the 'Can Chanh Dien' (CCD) Palace within Hue Imperial City has successfully redefined its architectural proportions and basic dimensions. The research, conducted by Le and Truong (2019), employed historical document analysis, site surveys, dimensional analysis, traditional design methodology investigation, and old photography analysis to experimentally reconstruct the palace's plan and section. Originally built in 1804 as a primary working hall for the Nguyen dynasty emperors, the CCD Palace suffered complete destruction of its wooden frame and roofs during the Indochina War in 1947, leaving only its platform intact. This study provides critical insights into the architectural heritage of Hue Imperial City, contributing to the preservation and understanding of Vietnam's cultural legacy.
