Summary

Taxes significantly influence the profitability of tourism businesses in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with higher tax burdens and lower own capital reducing financial performance. A study analyzing 30 tourism companies revealed that while taxes impacted overall profitability, they did not notably affect profit loss during seasonal fluctuations in a well-performing hotel. This suggests that tax policies could be leveraged to enhance long-term tourism competitiveness without necessarily destabilizing short-term revenue.
