Summary

Post-industrial facilities, once abandoned after industrial liquidation, are increasingly being repurposed into tourist and recreational spaces, contributing to socio-economic revitalization. This study highlights how such transformations—ranging from entertainment venues to hotels and restaurants—revitalize former industrial sites in Poland, Slovakia, and China. The research demonstrates that these repurposed facilities, often rich in cultural heritage, attract tourism and align with postmodern cultural consumption trends. Notably, some of these sites, including those recognized by UNESCO, serve as valuable examples of post-industrial heritage preservation. The study underscores the potential for such transformations to integrate into broader territorial development strategies.
