Summary
Malioboro Main Street, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, exhibits distinct urban tourism space morphology characterized by centered, linear, and scattered patterns. These patterns define zones for shopping, cultural experiences, and cuisine, influencing the type of tourism offered—cultural, shopping, or culinary. The study employed qualitative grounded theory, typo-morphological analysis, and place-centered mapping to reveal how specific elements like attractions and amenities shape these zones. This research provides a foundation for policy formulation aimed at regulating and organizing urban tourism development in the area, addressing the need for a well-conceived landscape concept.
