Summary
A study on the flowering phase of local pear varieties and their wild forms in Azerbaijan's Sheki-Zagatala region reveals that these can be categorized into three groups based on their mass flowering period: quick, medium-term, and late-flowering sorts. Notably, quick-flowering sorts tend to bloom later than expected, while late-flowering sorts bloom earlier. This temporal diversity positively impacts productivity in the region, particularly during early spring when changeable weather poses risks to pollination and fertilization. The research highlights the direct dependence of pear productivity on the level of pollination and the significance of flowering period diversity for agricultural success.
