Summary

Research in the Central Sikhote-Alin Mountains reveals that the chemical composition of small river basin waters remains stable regardless of flow rates, primarily shaped by interactions with soil and ground cover. The study identified seven distinct geographical water types—cyclonic rainfall, rainstorm, throughfall, subsurface soil flow, low water flow, low floods, and medium floods—based on specific discharge ranges. Notably, anionic composition varies the most among these types, indicating that chemical characteristics are predominantly influenced by landscape constituents rather than changes in water volume.
