Summary

A comprehensive analysis of Transverse Aeolian Ridges (TARs) on Mars and their terrestrial analogs in the Lut Desert, Iran, reveals four distinct groups characterized by their morphometry and response to wind conditions. This study leverages high-resolution satellite imagery, digital terrain models, and multi-temporal data spanning eight years to extract morphometric attributes of over 2 million TAR-like features in the Lut Desert and approximately 2000 Martian TARs. The findings suggest that physical conditions such as wind patterns and sediment sources play a significant role in the formation and diversity of these features, providing critical insights into the aeolian processes shaping Mars' surface.
