Summary
A participatory photographic observatory was developed to monitor and evaluate the landscapes of the Chaîne des Puys-Limagne fault tectonic arena, supporting its UNESCO World Heritage Site candidacy. This innovative approach combines repeated photography over time with other technical tools to engage local stakeholders—including elected officials and residents—in landscape preservation efforts. The study suggests that active involvement in observing and documenting changes can foster a deeper connection to the site, ensuring long-term commitment to its management and sustainable development. By integrating participatory methods, this observatory aims to enhance awareness of the site's universal value while providing a practical framework for future conservation strategies.
