Summary
A comprehensive inventory of non-marine invertebrate fauna on Ilha Grande, a UNESCO-listed site within the Paraty and Ilha Grande World Heritage Area, reveals significant gaps in biodiversity knowledge. The study identifies 465 taxa, predominantly arthropods (72.9%) and mollusks (22.15%), with most records at the genus level (60%). Notably, data collection has intensified since 1999, primarily around Vila Dois Rios, highlighting the need for broader taxonomic and geographic surveys to address critical knowledge gaps. This research underscores the importance of systematic biodiversity inventories in informing conservation efforts within this ecologically significant Atlantic Forest remnant.
