Summary
Research on sustainable mobility in Valparaíso, Chile, reveals that favorable topographic conditions do not correlate with higher sustainable mobility scores. Instead, socio-economic factors exhibit a negative relationship with these scores, challenging traditional assumptions about environmental determinism and urban planning. The study employed linear regression models to assess the impact of topographical and socio-spatial indicators on sustainable mobility, measured through a composite score encompassing social, environmental, and economic dimensions. These findings suggest that addressing socio-economic disparities is crucial for enhancing sustainable urban mobility in complex landscapes.
