Summary
A total of 16 diatom taxa, representing 12 genera and including one centric and 15 pennate species, were identified from Gokyo Lake-III in Sagarmatha National Park, Nepal. Notably, six of these taxa were recorded for the first time in the country, contributing new data to Nepal's diatom biodiversity. The study provides detailed morphological descriptions, taxonomic accounts, and distribution records, supported by photographic documentation. This research enhances our understanding of high-altitude aquatic ecosystems within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
