Summary

Russian architectural restoration in the 20th century saw the emergence of distinct regional schools, each shaped by local typological and artistic contexts. This study reveals how Moscow, Novgorod, Vladimir-Suzdal, Leningrad, and Pskov restoration schools developed unique methodological approaches and techniques—ranging from integral to synthetic restoration—while adapting to varying degrees of architectural preservation. By analyzing bibliographic material, the research identifies key features of these schools, highlighting their role in advancing both theory and practice. The findings underscore how regional contexts influenced restoration strategies, offering insights into the evolution of Russian heritage conservation.
