Summary
A socio-ecosystemic approach to coastal marine governance in Cuba's southeastern region, particularly around Desembarco del Granma National Park, demonstrates its scientific and legal viability through structured adaptive management practices. This study reveals how the Cuban State's high-level legal framework supports integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) by leveraging the Driving Forces–Pressures–State–Impacts–Respond (DPSIR) model. Using scientometric, exegetical-legal analysis and thematic content assessment, researchers identified key strategies for implementing this approach, providing actionable proposals for balancing ecological preservation with socio-economic development. The findings underscore the DPSIR framework's role in structuring governance objectives and responses, offering a blueprint for sustainable coastal management in Cuba.
