Ancestors of Uraz-Muhammad Khan in the history of the Kazakh Khanate

A study reveals the pivotal roles of Uraz-Muhammad Khan's ancestors in shaping the Kazakh Khanate during the 15th–16th centuries. Zhanibek Khan, a great-great-grandfather, symbolized education within the nascent state, while his grandson Shigai Khan established a dynasty that ruled for over two centuries until its dissolution by the Russian Empire. Another ancestor, Ondan-Sultan, is honored for defending Kazakh lands and being interred in the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, a revered Muslim shrine. The research leverages historical sources like 'Jami al-tawarikh' and medieval texts to trace the lineage's influence on political unity and cultural heritage.
