Summary

Digital reconstruction techniques have successfully revived the lost grandeur of Palmyra, Syria which was extensively destroyed by conflict and vandalism. This study presents 3D models of key structures such as the Temple of Bel, Temple of Baalshamin, Grand Colonnaded Street, and the theatre, offering 'ghost images' that accurately depict their former glory during the Greco-Roman period. By leveraging digital tools, researchers have preserved Palmyra's cultural heritage in virtual space, countering its physical erasure and reviving its historical significance in collective memory.
